Seeking a physician formally trained in Integrative Medicine, Board Certification or willingness to obtain Board Certification preferred.

The successful candidate will have the ability to help grow his/her practice while working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The clinic focus is on compassionate patient-centered care and exceptional customer service; as well as, strong clinical skills. Skills that would be considered optimal:

Acupuncture
Guided Imagery training
Meditation coaching
Nutrition training
Motivational interviewing skills

Requirements:
Formal training or willingness to train in Integrative Medicine and obtain Board Certification
Prefer previous experience in Integrative care
Ability to work harmoniously in a group practice
Excellent Initiative/marketing skills.
Excellent recommendations
Integrative Medicine board certification or board eligible.
Fellowship/training in integrative Medicine/Functional Medicine preferred

The physician is expected to take a comprehensive approach that addresses the underlying causes of conditions such as arthritis, digestive problems, autoimmune disorders, cancer, allergies, heart disease, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and chronic pain. The physician will be expected to have a solid working knowledge about how to manage such chronic conditions by addressing nutritional, metabolic and psychological factors through diet and lifestyle.

In addition to this, the physician will be expected to guide patients toward optimal health using the insights of both Western and non-Western medicine. He/she will need to evaluate patients for cardiovascular risk factors, high systemic inflammation, and perform an extensive history and family history to discover individual risks for other health conditions. The physician will be required to have cutting edge knowledge about lab work that may be potentially helpful in a patient’s individual situation.
A day in this physician’s schedule will be one-half to one hour consultations and follow-ups with patients, either in person or on the telephone. 40 hour work week, 8-16 patients per day.

The physician will be required to maintain all CME requirements through the American Board of Integrative Medicine, be able to give power point presentations to the public and at ‘Open House” events, and be an ambassador of Integrative Medicine to traditional MDs in Birmingham and to the community in general.
