Integrative Physician (MD, DO) including Acupuncture skills for Acute Pain Clinic

Caduceus Healthcare has an immediate need for a civilian Board Certified Physician to provide Integrative, Complimentary and Alternative medical services to our military members and families at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland on a long-term (multi-year) contract. No Call, No Nights, No Weekends. This is an outstanding opportunity for an Integrative Physician to support our military in a professional atmosphere all while enjoying the many attractions of the Washington, DC area.

Responsibilities include:
•Provide a full range of complementary and alternative medicine services, which may include acupuncture, guided imagery, meditation, yoga, biofeedback, integrative therapy, aromatherapy, etc.
•Provide educational instruction to residents, medical students, and student registered nurse anesthetists.
•Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
•Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.
•Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
•Order diagnostic tests as applicable.
•Provide patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, planning, and follow up of pain patients.
Required Credentials, Training & Education:
•Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, D.C., the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands. M.D. or D.O. required and U.S. Citizenship.
•Board certification in a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
•Current BLS and ACLS certification.
•Current and valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
•Completion of a 300 hour acupuncture training course.
•One year experience in acupuncture therapy.
•Have experience and/or education in other modalities of complementary and alternative medicine including at least one year experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team.
•Have minimum of one year experience in teaching residents, student Registered Nurses, or medical students within the last three years.

Schedule is Monday – Friday days (typically 7a-4p) with no call, no nights and no weekends.
