Jackson General Hospital a Critical Access Hospital located in Ripley, WV is looking to hire 2 Hospitalists to join their Hospitalist medical staff. Jackson General Hospital is a not-for-profit 42-bed acute care medical facility founded in 1964 by Community Health Association. We are a full-service community resource, consisting of doctors’ offices, rural health clinic, primary and specialty care providers, inpatient and outpatient care, 24-hour emergency care, physical therapy, community services, and educational opportunities. We meet the community’s healthcare needs through a 41-member medical staff that represents specialties in the areas of Emergency Medicine, Radiology, Podiatry, Family Practice, Pathology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Urology, and Otolaryngology. All members of our medical staff are board certified or board eligible in their specialty. In addition, 300 highly-qualified employees work tirelessly to ensure that we meet the needs of our community by doing the right thing right, every time, from the first time.
The Hospitalist position will be responsible for patient admissions, patient rounding, monitoring infusion patients, perform stress tests, read EKGs, assist in Emergency Department, clinic (depending on census). Respond to phone calls at night. (Emergency Department providers write orders for admission thru the night)
Characteristics of this position include:
• 8 am -5 pm in hospital shift
• 7 days on 7 days off
• Paid moving expenses negotiable
• Large patient base
• Paid malpractice insurance
• Subspecialists on call year round
• Full benefit package (medical, dental, 403-B retirement plan)
• Short term long term disability
• Salary 200K
• Average census 18 (winter months) 12 (summer months)
