- Hospital/Facility Size (# beds/exam rooms): 200+ beds
- Schedule: 12 hr shifts / 8a-8p or 8p-8a - minimum of 5 shifts/month
- Patient Volume: 20-25 pts/shift on geographic rounders. No admissions. 17-18 pts/shift for non-geographic rounders with 3-4 admissions.
- Patient Ages: 16+
- IP/OP: IP Only
- Call: Must take call. Must be on site to admit when needed (pager call)
- Support Staff: Other hospitalists, other subspecialty support (pulm support but no intensivists)
- Responsibilities (ICU, Vents, OB, etc): No procedures - have intensivists and interventional radiologists that perform procedures. Hospitalists are NOT the 1st to respond to codes (ED docs are).
- Charting/Dictation: EMR Meditech
- BC/BE Requirement: Board Certified/Board Eligible IM (BE - within 5 years)
- Privileges Required? (turnaround): Approximately 90 days for credentialing with no temp privileges being issued.
