Locum Hospitalist Work in the Great Smoky Mountains
Advantage Locums is seeking a talented Internal Medicine or Family Medicine trained physician to assist an established hospitalist group in Sylva, NC to offer Locums Hospitalist coverage over the next 4-6 months. Sylvia is approximately 48 miles east of Asheville, NC.
• Anticipated dates: 12/1/2014-3/1/2014
• Reason for coverage: vacancy
• Must have NC license and ACLS required
• Active Board Certification, FM or IM trained
• 49 bed facility, general medical and surgical hospital with approx. 2,200 annual admissions
• Need coverage for both day & night shift, both are expected to be in-house throughout the shift
• 12 hour shifts, 7a-7p, 7p-7a
• Will have nurse practitioner support during shift
• # of patient encounters per shift: varies dependent on day or night shift
• Locums contractor will need to carry the pager
• Temporary privileges are available
• Day shift will be expected to see 15-20 pts, including rounding, ICU & admissions throughout their shift.
• Night shift will be expected to cross-cover for all hospitalist pts as well as see admissions, consults or codes that come up during the shift.
• Both providers will be provided with a cell phone to carry while on shift
Compensation is negotiable and is based on experience and certifications. Along with the hourly compensation we will provide travel, lodging and mal practice while on assignment.
