Seeking a Board Eligible/Certified Internist for our Hospitalist Service. The hospitalist service is made up of five physicians and one physician assistant. Currently, our schedule consist of 7 days on and 7 days off functioning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week involving day, swing and night shifts. Hospitalist volumes are approximately 1,400 admissions with a daily census of 18-22 patients. The hospital is a 60+bed, acute care community hospital with a 55 Active membership on the medical staff. The Hospitalist Service provides some of the following types of services: General adult medicine intensive care, including the care of patients with acute coronary syndromes and with chronic respiratory conditions ventilator care; Cardiovascular procedures including EKG interpretation, performance and interpretation of exercise, and pharmacologic cardiology stress tests; Medical consultation and care of surgical patients, consultation to the FMH Emergency Department, and preoperative consultation; Care for adult medicine patients of area physicians who do not themselves care for hospitalized patients; Care for the patients of FMH staff physicians, who cannot come to the hospital to care for their patients during normal working weekdays (care of these patients will be returned to the staff physician at the end of the working day); and Performance of routine medical procedures - LP, paracentesis, thoracocentesis, central lines, intubation, mechanical ventilator management, stress tests, electrical cardioversion, arterial lines, feeding tube placement, swan catheters, temporary pacemaker wires and critical care management.. Starting salary of $187,423. Supplementary compensation bonuses for specific specialist services, and individual and group citizenship.
