Job Description & Requirements
Hospitalist - Physician - (Hospital Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 01/01/2015Available Shifts: 12 Hour/Day

Great location in New Hampshire looking for 6 months of hospitalist coverage starting in January ongoing. Day shifts, 7 on 7 off.

A hospitalist (locum tenens) is a physician that is generally Internal Medicine residency trained but can be from Family Medicine or other sub-specialty programs. They specialize in the care of patients who have been admitted into a hospital. These general medicine professionals perform a variety of roles in the hospital and, accordingly, must be familiar with the entirety of human physiology and a wide range of illnesses and medical conditions. Hospitalists complete residencies in internal medicine, much like primary care physicians. When patients arrive to the hospital, a hospitalist will take care of them, prescribing treatment as needed, before referring them to a specialist or discharging them from the facility.

About the Facility
An affiliate of the Geisel Medical School of Dartmouth, this medical center offers a wide array of world-class medical services to residents of Vermont and New Hampshire. The hospital has been awarded a wealth of awards since its inception, including the Baby-Friendly designation, the National Cancer Institute designation and Magnet status (being the first medical center in New Hampshire to have garnished the distinction). Recently, the hospital was named one of the nation's best by U.S. News and Report, marking the ninth time since 1995 that it has earned the honor.

Facility Location
Lebanon is located in idyllic Grafton County, just south of Hanover. The town features the small-town living charms that have won the hearts of countless New Hampshire and Vermont residents. Lebanon's seasonal farmers market is a major draw as the area has a wealth of artisanal farms and crafts producers.
