Hospitalist - Physician - (Hospital Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 Hour/Day
Facility in western central Missouri seeks a board-certified Internal Medicine physician for a Hospitalist opportunity. FP will be considered but IM is preferred. This is an immediate and ongoing need for minimum 5-7 shifts per month, 7a-7p or 7p-7a. No procedures are required but provider will round ICU and run codes. EMRs are utilized. A hospitalist (locum tenens) is a physician that is generally Internal Medicine residency trained but can be from Family Medicine or other sub-specialty programs. They specialize in the care of patients who have been admitted into a hospital. These general medicine professionals perform a variety of roles in the hospital and, accordingly, must be familiar with the entirety of human physiology and a wide range of illnesses and medical conditions. Hospitalists complete residencies in internal medicine, much like primary care physicians. When patients arrive to the hospital, a hospitalist will take care of them, prescribing treatment as needed, before referring them to a specialist or discharging them from the facility.

Santa-Cali-Gon Days is one of the city's biggest annual draws, a Labor Day festival held intermittently since 1940. Independence has a wealth of museums, both historical and arts oriented.
