Locums Hospitalists needed in Iowa.
Advantage Locums is seeking a talented Internal Medicine or Family Medicine trained physicians to assist our client with locum hospitalist coverage at their facility in Ottumwa, IA. Ottumwa is approximately 85 miles southeast of Des Moines. If not licensed in Iowa, the client will license the provider and only takes 4 weeks to obtain. Open shifts in July, August, and September.
• Board Certified IM or FM, or Board Eligible(within 5 years of completing residency)
• ACLS required
• 7 on 7 off, 12 hour shifts, 7a-7p, 7p-7a
• Need physicians to work blocks
• Patient Census: Admitting MD-less than 10, Rounding MD 12-18
• Average 6-8 admits per 24 hour period, 2-3 admits per night shift
• 2 physicians on during the day, one night physician
• Procedures: vent management required, intubations preferred but not required
• Codes: ED responds to codes, but hospitalists are a part of the code team.
• EMR: Meditech, CPOE will be implemented July 1
• Credentialing: 1 week to obtain privileges
• Specialty Backup: General Surgery, Neurology, Urology, Cardiology, Ortho,
Along with the hourly compensation we will provide travel, lodging and mal practice while on assignment.
