We have a unique opportunity to work as a private practice hospitalist in Birmingham, Alabama, working in a 600+ bed medical facility with over 900 privately practicing physicians. Perks of this arrangement include flexibility of scheduling, shorter shifts than traditional Hospitalists, and higher compensation. Inpatient volumes are consistently near capacity with most area physicians using hospitalists for inpatient care. This hospital serves the best payor mix in Birmingham. This private group of 3 physicians work in collaboration with 4 additional full time Hospitalists on staff. Phone call is shared at 1:7. The average patients per day is 15 with the ability to increase if desired. Due to strong wages and a low cost of living, Birmingham is known as one of the best places to live and work in the country. This large city is home to over 1,000 acres of hiking and biking trails and is well known for bass fishing.
