Hospitalist - Physician - (Hospital Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 04/05/2014Available Shifts: 12 Hour/Day
Locum tenens Hospitalist needed for clinic and inpatient care at 50-bed Indian Health Hospital in Oklahoma. The Hospitalist will handle admissions and discharges. Must be comfortable with vent management, spinal tap, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and bone marrow aspirations. BLS, ACLS and US citizenship required. The schedule is 12 hour shifts, 7 on 7 off, Saturday through Friday.
A hospitalist (locum tenens) is a physician that is generally Internal Medicine residency trained but can be from Family Medicine or other sub-specialty programs. They specialize in the care of patients who have been admitted into a hospital. These general medicine professionals perform a variety of roles in the hospital and, accordingly, must be familiar with the entirety of human physiology and a wide range of illnesses and medical conditions. Hospitalists complete residencies in internal medicine, much like primary care physicians. When patients arrive to the hospital, a hospitalist will take care of them, prescribing treatment as needed, before referring them to a specialist or discharging them from the facility.

Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
