Four to six Hospitalists are needed to expand the program. Currently there are 8 full time and 3 part time Hospitalists and 2 full time mid levels. Work 15-18 (12 hour) shifts per month. Currently they have 4 on each day (1 for admits, 1 for rounding, 1 consults and 1 for rapid response). They have 1 mid level to assist with discharges. At night there is 1 physician and 1 mid level. There is no back up call. There is an occasional night shift but they have physicians that prefer the nights over days. The hospital has a full service of specialties so procedures are rarely needed to be done but they do want the physicians to be willing to help out if needed. They have Intensivists on staff. The pay is $80.00/hr – 15 shifts/month =$172,800 plus they offer productivity bonus. Full benefit package including 1 week CME and 1k stipend.
