Hospitalist - Physician - (Hospital Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: Varied Shift
Hospitalist physician opportunity in Toledo, Ohio (OH). Will consider Internal Medicine physician. 12-hour shifts (day and night available). Some procedures required. Licensing assistance offered if not currently licensed in OH. Exclusive opportunity at a 794-bed facility that has served the Toledo community for over 130 years. As the largest acute-care facility in the region, they provide service to a 27-county area within northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Situated along Lake Erie, it is a natural destination point for water sports, lakefront activities and summer recreation. Toledo is 60 miles from Detroit, 120 miles from Cleveland and 225 from Chicago.
A hospitalist (locum tenens) is a physician that is generally Internal Medicine residency trained but can be from Family Medicine or other sub-specialty programs. They specialize in the care of patients who have been admitted into a hospital. These general medicine professionals perform a variety of roles in the hospital and, accordingly, must be familiar with the entirety of human physiology and a wide range of illnesses and medical conditions. Hospitalists complete residencies in internal medicine, much like primary care physicians. When patients arrive to the hospital, a hospitalist will take care of them, prescribing treatment as needed, before referring them to a specialist or discharging them from the facility.
