Hospitalist - Nocturnist - Physician - (Internal Medicine - Hosp Nocturnist) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: Block Shift - Night
A hospitalist program in the Boston area is looking for a nocturnist starting in Mid October. Great time to be in Boston!! If you are interested please contact Staff Care.
A hospitalist nocturnist(locum tenens) is a physician who works predominantly overnight, versus practicing during the day. This physician is hired to specifically work at night and provides care to patients during this time. A hospitalist nocturnist is in the field of internal medicine and works overnight in hospital settings only. They are available to provide critical care to patients in settings where physicians are not readily available onsite.
Required Qualifications
Shifts start at 7 AM and are either 10 or 12 hours, typically six admissions per day. There are two doctors on during days with a mid level most days from 11 A to 11 PM. The average census is 15 patient per doctor, the average length of stay is 3 days. Thus most mornings will be busy with discharge planning and dictations. A very strong case management team is in place to help you. Multidisciplinary rounds occur daily at 9 AM and are required

The town of Quincy was named after Colonel John Quincy, maternal grandfather of John Quincy Adams. One of the nicknames for Quincy is: "City of Presidents," as it is also the birthplace of former President John Adams. As a suburb of Boston, Quincy is close to many elegant waterfront restaurants and entertainment spots, as well as the well known Faxon Park and many coffee break cafes.
