Hospitalist - Physician - (Hospital Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 Hour/Day
Locum tenens board certified or board eligible Hospitalist needed in Circleville, OH (located about 25 minutes outside downtown Columbus, OH) Candidate should be available to work a 7on/7off shifts working either 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. Physician should be prepared to run codes, respond to rapid response, have ICU involvement, and admit medical and surgical adult patients with the exception of obstetrical patients. Hospital will consider Family Practitioner or Internal Medicine physicians with Hospitalist experience. Call Staff Care today for more information!
A hospitalist (locum tenens) is a physician that is generally Internal Medicine residency trained but can be from Family Medicine or other sub-specialty programs. They specialize in the care of patients who have been admitted into a hospital. These general medicine professionals perform a variety of roles in the hospital and, accordingly, must be familiar with the entirety of human physiology and a wide range of illnesses and medical conditions. Hospitalists complete residencies in internal medicine, much like primary care physicians. When patients arrive to the hospital, a hospitalist will take care of them, prescribing treatment as needed, before referring them to a specialist or discharging them from the facility.
