Hospitalist - Physician - (Hospital Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 Hour/Day
Locums tenens Hospitalist needed in eastern New York. The facility is located in a shore line community, not far from the famous Hamptons or New York City. Hospitalists work a block schedule, which is predominantly day shifts (can do 1-3 nights per month when necessary), in a cohesive team setting. The expectation is approximately 17 shifts per month with an average daily caseload between 16-18 patients. There are no procedure or rapid response team requirements. There is a full complement of all subspecialties readily available that work with the Hospitalist Medicine team. Call Staff Care today.
A hospitalist (locum tenens) is a physician that is generally Internal Medicine residency trained but can be from Family Medicine or other sub-specialty programs. They specialize in the care of patients who have been admitted into a hospital. These general medicine professionals perform a variety of roles in the hospital and, accordingly, must be familiar with the entirety of human physiology and a wide range of illnesses and medical conditions. Hospitalists complete residencies in internal medicine, much like primary care physicians. When patients arrive to the hospital, a hospitalist will take care of them, prescribing treatment as needed, before referring them to a specialist or discharging them from the facility.
