No Visa's. BC/BE Hospitalist needed Join this established and well respected group that presently has 8 Physicians (2-Hem/Onc, Pulm/CC, IM, Med/Peds, 3-FP), 10 Physician Assistants and 1 NP. This would be a nocturnist position covering the groups inpatients. Schedule is 7pm-7am Sunday through Thursday each week. Admissions average 3-4 per night plus the nocturnist fields phone calls from local nursing homes and assisted living facilities and covers a long term acute care facility for unstable patients and rounds on about one-third of the patients there,ie, about 13 patients on average per day. The group has 1 main office and 3 satellite. They have a Medicare certified laboratory to service its patients. Other ancillary services include EKG's, flexible sigmoidoscopy, bone densitometry, echocardiography, and ultrasound studies (carotids, abdomens, lower extremity arterial and venous studies). They have been doing nuclear cardiac scanning in house for 5 years. Diagnostic radiology is available at each of the four practice sites. CT Scans, Mammograms, and MRI services are available at the Hospital along with a full time ER staff, 2 MRI machines, 2 CT scanners, and a cardiac cath laboratory. All subspecialties of medicine are represented in the area. Excellent pediatric, ob-gyn, ENT, urologic, orthopedic, ophthalmologic, dermatologic, and neurosurgical services are available. Practitioners enjoy the support of R.N.'s and Physician Assistants in fulfilling hospital rounding and call obligations. Pediatric care by family practitioner and med-peds physicians is evolving and the pediatric patient base is growing in the outpatient setting. The family practitioners and med peds physicians share inpatient pediatric care call. The pediatric inpatient census presently remains small. Location: - A town of over 50,000 population with a service area of 250,000 persons - 50 miles from Raleigh, 2 hours from Richmond, 2 hours from the Atlantic Coast and 4 hours from Washington, D.C. - The local Airport provides additional ease of transportation, as does Amtrak. - The local College has a 1200 seat performing arts auditorium where musicals and theatrical productions are available. - The area is blessed with good public schools, several church affiliated schools, a 12-grade private school, and the largest charter school in North Carolina. - The economy is well diversified, including agriculture, Hospira, Consolidated Diesel, textiles, furniture manufacturing and excellent banking facilities. - Entertainment includes excellent golfing, tennis, fishing and hunting. - Musical opportunities for both adults and children are available with the Tar River Orchestra and Chorus, which offers an adult chorus, an adult orchestra, a symphonic band, a youth string program, a youth chorus, and a swing band.
