Opportunity:
As the incoming Hospitalist physician, you'll help aide in the growth of an established Hospitalist Program working days on a block schedule of 7am-7pm. The ideal candidate should have experience at a tertiary medical center and have the ability to manage complex patients. In addition, you'll interact with the medical centers affiliated Intensivist and Family Medicine Residency programs. The position requires patient care in a 396 bed acute care facility with 24/7 in-house coverage. ICU Coverage is required but procedures are not, specialists are available.

Duties include:
- perform evaluations, including H&P’s, and orders at the time of admission
- provide emergency room analysis for triage, admission or discharge
- oversee and participate in daily rounds
- perform duties of patient's primary-care physician
- manage communication among doctors plus medical team, patient and their family
- coordinate care with/among Specialists
- analyze and approve any medical or surgical admissions
- provide pre-op evaluations
- provide consultations
- act as transition coordinator
- collaborate with Case Managers
- manage resources efficiently such as lab, X-ray, and hospital's formulary
- help patients navigate the hospital bureaucracy
- provide discharge summaries and referrals
- schedule patient follow-up
- support every member of hospitalist team as required
- other inpatient duties as necessary
