The Practice:
Lexington Hospitalists is seeking an additional
Hospitalist to join its established 12-Hospitalist
Practice at Altoona Regional, located in Central
Pennsylvania. The Hospitalists are part of a 330-
physician medical staff comprised of primary care
physicians and specialist including: endocrinology,
pulmonology, intensivists, neurology, cardiology and
cardio-thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, critical care,
and general and vascular surgery.
Schedule:
• Seven on/seven off. Adult only; no OB or pediatrics.
• Average census of 18-20 patients per physician.
• Competitive salary and incentive bonus.
• Comprehensive benefits package.
• Physician extender support (PAs and NPs).
• Hospitalist service at one hospital only.
The Health System:
Altoona Regional Health System (ARHS) is a 400-bed
regional health care system providing care to residents
of a six-county service area in central Pennsylvania.
ARHS is a level II trauma center, regional
oncology center, and a Joint Commission – certified
stroke center. Additionally ARHS provides comprehensive
cardiology and cardiovascular surgery,
behavioral health, a vascular and wound care center,
and an Institute for Sleep Medicine.
The Community:
The Altoona/Blair County/Central Pennsylvania region
is a family-oriented community with excellent school
systems, abundant cultural amenities, easy access to
larger, neighboring cities, and unlimited outdoor and
recreational opportunities.
