Job Description

Last Update: 7/21/20
Hospital Medicine program outside of Columbus, OH is recruiting to add full and part time physicians. The tentative start date is the first of April. We are awaiting additional practice details, though it should fall in line with similar Sound programs in the area as listed below.

Columbus, OH locum tenens position to work with an established group of 25 physicians. The program will be located in a modern 250+ bed facility with an open ICU. Hospitalists need to be able to Intubate in emergency situations (ER can be back up for this). No other procedures are required at this time, though this is subject to change. Preference is to source physicians comfortable with most procedures and ability to assist with ICU patients as necessary.

This will follow Sound Physicians’ traditional 7 on-7 off schedule model. On days when the swing shift is not staffed, one physician will carry the admissions pager and evenly distribute admits among the Sound Hospitalists. Sound takes unassigned patients, some local PCP patients and the Orthopedic admissions. The average daily encounter here is 16-18 patients per day.

Efficiency and being a team player is a must to thrive in this facility and team. Hospitalists are required to have an active ACLS. Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.

Columbus is Ohio’s capital city. Enjoy the educational, sporting, and cultural opportunities offered by The Ohio State University and Columbus’s 30 + colleges and universities. World-class attractions, fantastic arts and culture performances are part of everyday life. Easy access to Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dayton, and Lexington, KY is a huge plus to this location.

Echo Locum Tenens is an affiliate of Sound Physicians dedicated to Hospital Medicine physician placement throughout the United States. One of the benefits of working with Echo Locum Tenens is that we offer the candidates we assist with placement direct access into Sound Physicians’ opportunities. We have access to all of their sporadic open shifts, longer term opportunities, and new practice openings.
