Continuum Medical Staffing has opportunity for a Hospitalist to work in a Health Centre in Daytona Beach, Fl.
The day shift at FHMMC is 7 AM – 7 PM. Any admissions that come in before 7 PM, should be seen by the day hospitalist and not delayed to the following day. Currently 4 evenings of the “7 on” is being covered by other physicians at the facility, so the hospitalist will need to cover call 3 nights of their “7 on”.
The hospitalist will need to know how to manage ICU patients except for ventilators, but does not have to do any procedures. Ventilators are managed by Pulmonologists. Specialists and Interventional Radiologists do procedures. The ER docs will place central lines for the hospitalist before admitting patient to the hospitalist for care.
Regarding night calls – usually the calls are for new admissions and acute changes in patients. The nurses are wonderful and rarely call you for something they can wait to notify you the next day at 6 or 7 AM.
Sometimes the hospitalists may have as many as 6 or 7 admits in a day and sometimes 0 admits in a day. It varies.
