24-hour shifts (includes 6 hours of scheduled inpatient work and being on call per 24-hour period with the possibility of being called back into the hospital to do inpatient)
7 on / 7 off
Average # of patient encounters per Day: 9
Paper Charting
30-minute response time to return to the hospital when On Call
No ICU
Procedures: May need the Hospitalist to do intubations and other types of procedures, though they can stabilize & transfer the patient to another hospital if need be for more critical patient care when needed.
Hospitalist is responsible for admits
Procedures include central lines and intubate
Hospital does not have an ICU
Hospitalist is responsible for running codes while there. when not there the codes are ran by the ED physician. The hospitalist is expected to come in on all codes.
They will be the only hospitalist
Specialties on staff include General Surgery, Pediatrician and Cardiologist
Physician needs to be BC/BE and we will look at FPs that have hospitalist experience.
