Hospitalist - Nocturnist - Physician - (Internal Medicine - Hosp Nocturnist) Locum Tenens
Virginia Health System seeks interim coverage at for BC/BE Hospitalist. Locums will need to be willing to commit to a minimum of 1 - 7 day block per month; night or swing shift only. Ideal candidate works well in a team environment, has strong documentation skills, and has a proven history of core clinical competency. Patient census per physician is approximately 6 - 8 admissions per shift plus approximately 8 additional encounters. Also includes cross coverage (primarily phone consults from nursing). Procedures required, Will respond to codes when available; Closed ICU.
A hospitalist nocturnist(locum tenens) is a physician who works predominantly overnight, versus practicing during the day. This physician is hired to specifically work at night and provides care to patients during this time. A hospitalist nocturnist is in the field of internal medicine and works overnight in hospital settings only. They are available to provide critical care to patients in settings where physicians are not readily available onsite.
