Maxim Government Services (MGS), a service delivery of Maxim Healthcare Services, is currently seeking Physician Hospitalist for a contract opportunity to provide medical services at the Naval Hospital in Pensacola, FL.

Site of Service:
Medical Surgical Inpatient wards at Naval Hospital, Pensacola, FL.

Services are required in the assigned clinical area, Sunday through Saturday including Federal Holidays. Typical shifts will be 10 to 12 hours in length and shall occur between the hours of 0700 – 1700 and 1900 - 0700. The Government reserves the right to schedule extended shifts to cover meal breaks. The specific schedule for each two-week period will be provided one month in advance by the Government supervisor.

Qualifications:
• Successful completion of residency program in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association or those Canadian training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or appropriate Canadian authority.
• Must be considered board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine by either a member board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or a member board of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
• Possess a minimum of one year experience within the previous three years in inpatient medicine.
• Possess current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Duties: As assigned, the HCWs shall perform all applicable duties given in Section C of the basic contract and the following:
• 5.1. Act as team lead in an adult urgent or emergency response and shall be required to carry a government issued cellphone/pager and for any type of hospital response code
• 5.2. Respond to routine questions regarding admitting patients and coordinate the plan with the nursing staff and attending of record.
• 5.3. Respond and initiate workups for hospitalized patients and coordinate transitions in care with on-call physicians or assist in interfacility transfers.
• 5.4. Respond to request for inpatient consultations which may or may not result in ongoing daily consultative rounds or admission of care.
