Gastroenterologist - Physician - (Gastroenterology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

This Veterans Affairs Medical Center seeks a qualified gastroenterologist to fill in on a locum tenens basis while regular staff recruitment efforts are in progress. The work will commence immediately upon the completion of credentialing and last on an ongoing basis, until a permanent hire can be identified. Working hours may vary but consist of an 8-hour day, Monday through Friday.

Gastroenterologists(locum tenens) are physicians who have specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of medical issues associated with the digestive track, including organs such as the esophagus, stomach, liver, intestines and pancreas. These physicians treat conditions such as acid reflux disease, hemorrhoids, ulcers, IBS, hernias and hepatitis, among many other others. Gastroenterologists are well versed in knowledge pertaining to the movement of food through the body and receive extensive training in endoscopic procedures and imaging.


Required Qualifications
The physician shall have an active BLS and ACLS prior to the start date. Because this is a federal facility, a license from any US state will qualify.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with the veteran population is considered a plus.
