The John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical center, Detroit, Michigan, Department of Medicine seeks a fourth full time BC/BE gastroenterologist. The responsibilities and opportunities for this specialist will include in-patient and out-patient consultations; approximately 800 procedures yearly (including colonoscopy, UGI endoscopy and capsule endoscopy) and participation in a busy Hepatitis C treatment clinic. Night and weekend call is shared equally by all the physicians in the GI Section. Our hospital is a full service medical center providing primary, secondary, and tertiary care and is fully affiliated with the Wayne State University School of Medicine. Accordingly, the GI Section is committed to teaching and mentoring medical students, Internal Medicine residents and GI fellows. Clinical research is encouraged, but not required for this position.
