Loyalty is thoroughgoing in that it is not merely a casual interest but a wholehearted commitment to a cause." -Royce Scope of Work: • Provide Gastroenterology services for the Medicine Specialty Clinic. • Perform patient examinations and education and supervision of training for residents/fellows. • All medical record documentation will be done in the Computer Patient Record System (CPRS). • Patients include all conditions and diseases relating to Gastroenterology specialty. • Participate in the education and supervision of procedure training for residents/fellows; and, will help review and triage consult referrals to the Gastroenterology clinics and will apply national and VA guidelines to patient screening, surveillance and management of Gastroenterology disorders. • Patient care will be required for new and established veteran referrals. Such care includes examination, general history, evaluation, prescribing medications from the VA formulary, diagnosis, treatment, etc. Qualifications: • Must have at least 1 year of experience. • Must have proficiency in diagnostic and interventional gastroenterological care. • Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with no restrictions. • DEA Registration is required. • BLS and/or ACLS Certification is required. • Must have a full and unrestricted license and/or certification in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. • Must be proficient in speaking and writing in English. • Excellent interpersonal, writing, typing and verbal skills required.
