Job Description & Requirements
Gastroenterologist - Physician - (Gastroenterology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 09/16/2014Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

(2) Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist's to provide coverage as soon as credentialed for 6 months with the option to extend 6 additional months. *Any State License. Work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm no call. Perform evaluations involving history & physical examinations, ordering of laboratory studies. Supervise & assist ancillary health personnel in their evaluation & management of patients & procedures. Perform GI Endoscopic procedures, including, EGD's, ERCP's, Colonoscopies, Liver Biopsies, & Paracentesis. Outpatient GI clinic and GI Endoscopy Unit consultative services in other inpatient areas to include Emergency Room, Intensive Care Units, Telemetry/Step-Down Units, General Medicine Ward & General Surgical Ward. Must have both Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certifications. Must have DEA. Site uses computerized medical records system.

Gastroenterologists(locum tenens) are physicians who have specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of medical issues associated with the digestive track, including organs such as the esophagus, stomach, liver, intestines and pancreas. These physicians treat conditions such as acid reflux disease, hemorrhoids, ulcers, IBS, hernias and hepatitis, among many other others. Gastroenterologists are well versed in knowledge pertaining to the movement of food through the body and receive extensive training in endoscopic procedures and imaging.
