Physician Employed Position
General Overview: Gastroenterologist
Hospital/Community Info:
• 393- bed tertiary care facility
• Regional referral center for 10 -12 hospitals
• Serving a population > 370,000
• Not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization
• 8 GI’s in community; 2 OP only; 2 with privileges.
• Deluxe endo suite
• General surgeons provide additional GI coverage
• Call: currently 1:4
• ER: level 2 trauma center; greater than 70,000 visits per year
• Hospitalist program: 16-physician, 24-hour coverage
• Goal: traditional practice; initially probably 70% IP/30% OP
Community Info:
• Resident population of approximately 50,000
• Family-friendly environment
• Moderate climate
• Low crime rate and property taxes
• Reasonable cost of living
• Good schools – public and private
• Lots of kid-focused activities
• 2-hour drive from Lexington, Columbus or Cincinnati
Service-specific Info:
• ERCP volumes: approximately 10 per month
• EUS volumes: 12 -15 per month
(based on physician who left group practice; currently one surgeon does ERCP and no one is doing EUS)
Candidate:
• BE/BC – graduate of accredited fellowship program
• ERCP mandatory
• EUS skills preferred – will train
Package:
• Standard term: 3 to 5 years
• Attractive salary – guaranteed base year 1; goes to wRVU productivity basis in subsequent years
• Eligible for wRVU-based productivity bonus from beginning of employment
• Sign-on bonus offered
• Standard Paid Time Off: 15 days PTO; 6 holidays; 5 days CME
• $4,000 annual CME allowance – meeting registration/travel, dues subscriptions, etc.
• Relocation assistance
• Paid malpractice, including employer-paid tail should physician leave our practice
• Standard health and welfare benefits, including matching 403(b) plan
