The Loma Linda VA Medical Center is seeking Physicians (Internal Medicine/Family Medicine). The staff Physician delivers high-quality Primary Care services, utilizing PACT principles. Primary Care duties include, but are not limited by, the evaluation and treatment of various acute and chronic health conditions, illnesses, and injuries; performsphysical examinations; initiates consultations/referrals to specialty services, as indicated; orders diagnostic studies, such as laboratory tests, x-rays, electrocardiograms, etc., in the evaluation and management of acute and chronic conditions; performs health promotion and disease prevention; offers education and counseling to patients and families, regarding the patient's health conditions, the recommended diagnostic and therapeutic treatment options, to include medications, and performs preventative counseling; completes medical documentation in accordance with bylaws and rules and regulations of the Medical Staff; collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, including nursing, pharmacy, nutrition, and other health professionals to discuss/determine the best treatment care plan for patients. The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System is affiliated with Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Therefore, the applicant, who is eligible to apply for a faculty appointment, will teach and supervise house staff and medical students within the Loma Linda VA. Of Course, one of the missions of the CHA is its dedication to health care education. As such, the Loma Linda VA team strongly promotes and advocates this mission with a robust education program with its affiliate. Board Certified in Internal Medicine/Family Medicine isstrongly preferred. WorkSchedule: Includes an 8-hour shift within the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
