Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks (VHSO) is seeking a creative, experienced and dynamic physician leader for the position of Associate Chief of Staff for Primary Care. The Associate Chief of Staff for Primary Care (ACOS/PC) reports to the Chief of Staff. The ACOS/PC has senior leadership responsibility for all clinical, administrative, and budgetary operations of the Primary Care Service Line. Primary Care operations span a three state area that includes current locations at Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Ozark, and Harrison, Arkansas; Mount Vernon and Branson, Missouri; and Jay, Oklahoma. Expansion of primary care services is planned for Springfield and Joplin, Missouri. Preferred applicants should have at least three years of VA experience in the Primary Care setting that includes a strong demonstrated track record of leadership and administrative responsibility. The successful candidate should have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to promote excellence in the provision of patient care, teaching, and research. Duties include but are not limited to: provide leadership and direction for the primary care providers, clinical leaders and administrative support staff. managing a primary care program, specifically with regard to customer satisfaction, quality of services provided, and efficiency of service delivery. plan, organize, develop, implement, control, and refine a comprehensive patient management/clinical support/administrative program which provides services and technical counsel necessary to meet clinical, procedural, legal and administrative requirements relating to the care and treatment of outpatients to achieve maximum utilization of patient care resources in a cost-effective, efficient, and timely manner. meet the needs of this widespread patient population using broad clinical and administrative expertise integrate primary functions among the Health Care System and CBOCs. coordinate Veteran care with other VA and non-VA entities within and outside the VISN 16 Network. participate as a member, lead or champion of process improvement teams, leadership committees such as Medical Staff, Patient Aligned Care Team Committees, Clinical Executive Board, Physician Professional Standards Board, Peer Review Committee, etc. may be tasked with providing active leadership and decision making for the organization, responsible for strategic planning, the budget process, and performance improvement initiatives.
