General Practitioner - Physician - (General Practice - GP) Locum Tenens
The Federal Corrections Facility in Lompoc, CA is needing (2) General Practice Physicians to see the male-inmate population for primary care needs. Provider will need an active DEA, Medical Degree, BLS and ACLS (can obtain after acceptance,) Any state license and EMR experience. This position will need to feel comfortable working with emergency situations until the patient is sent out for further treatment. The schedule is Monday - Friday from 7:30a. -4:00p. No weekends or call required.
A general practice physician(locum tenens), like a family care doctor, provides primary and ongoing care for their patients, usually serving as the first point of contact when a medical issue arises. These physicians are trained to deal with both the physical and emotional aspects of medicine, often forging lasting bonds with patients and families over generations. Often times, GPs run specialized practices within their offices, providing their patients with specialized treatments in certain medical areas, such as obstetrics, instead of having to refer the patient to another physician.
