Job Description:
Wonderful position for an FP who wants to make a difference in this central Illinois town located 40 minutes to Springfield, Illinois. Initial Contract Term: Two years (negotiable) and renewable.
Compensation: $165,000 - $180,000; $75,000 in loan assistance, sign-on bonus and relocation assistance included; eligibility for annual productivity incentive bonuses.
Benefits: Health, life, vision, dental, disability and AD&D insurance, malpractice coverage, 403(b) pension plan plus 457(b) tax-deferred investment option, six weeks of annual paid time off plus one week of CME time, and $5,000 annual allowance for professional expenses.
Situation: This Health System is the largest healthcare provider in the Tri-State Region composed of West Central IL, Northeast MO, and Southeast IA and includes two hospitals and a 40-member physician group. Financially it is a very strong organization with substantial operating reserves and A bond ratings from moody's and Standard and Poore's. The Family Medicine physician being sought will be employed by the corporate services of the hospital, and be the third Family Physician working at the Rural Health Clinic operated by its affiliate, a Community Hospital, a Critical Access Hospital, serving a market area of approximately 25,000. The physician is expected to live in Pike County, IL, and to take a leadership position in the community and with the Hospital's Medical Staff. The physician is needed due to growth of the current two-physician practice. The practice's two incumbent physicians are American born and train, Board Certified in Family Medicine and under age 40. The Hospital has a full-time medical staff of nine, with 23 other physicians from neighboring communities conducting part-time consulting clinics in their specialties. The Hospital maintains a 24-hour Emergency Department staffed by employed physicians. Full laboratory, radiology, and other support departments are on hand, and imaging technology includes a new 64-slice CT machine.
Community: Pike County, IL, is bordered on the East and West by the IL and MS Rivers, respectively, and is rated as the number one deer hunting county in the U.S. It is an outdoorsman's paradise with extraordinary hunting and fishing opportunities. population 4,200 is a clean, friendly, safe and progressive community with a robust town square, balanced by a west end commercial strip that includes major retailers such as Wal-Mart, Pizza Hut, Sears, and McDonalds. The public schools are sound and above the Midwest average in quality and the town boasts an outstanding public library and branch campus for the regional public community college. Quality homes are available across the financial spectrum, ranging from historic Victorian Era mansions along Washington Street to contemporary new construction at the City's fringes.
