MedCare Staffing is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Practice Physician for a locums position in a Federal Correctional Institution near Sacramento, CA. Coverage would begin ASAP and start as a 120 day assignment.
Monday through Friday 7a-3p
Scope of Practice: The duties of this position require frequent and direct contact with individuals in confinement who are suspected or convicted of offenses against the criminal laws of the United States. The Physician will be responsible for providing in-house medical consultation and evaluation services to chronic care ambulatory and general population inmates.
Requirements: Provider must be Board Certified or Board Eligible and be able to submit copies of certification with CV. Also must have copies of all state licenses and a BLS. A strong background in primary care is preferred and provider must undergo a security clearance and background check. The provider must agree to adhere to all regulations prescribed by the institution for the safety, custody, and conduct of inmates. The provider shall attend an initial orientation program of four hours or a refresher program of two hour duration prior to assuming institution involvement.
