Advantage Locums is seeking a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician or Internal Medicine to provide inpatient/outpatient fulltime Locums coverage for 4-6 months, possibly longer. This is position is has the potential to be long term locums and become permanent position.
• Must be a MD/DO and Board Certified in family practice or
internal medicine willing to do locums coverage both inpatient and outpatient
• Must have active CA License and those than commit for 4-6 months
• Outpatient Care Responsibilities:
o Will work 5 days in the office (7-4 or 8-5 or 9-6) and a minimum of one (12-9)
o One Saturday/month 8-5 and will have a day off the following week.
o Anticipate seeing 20-25 patients in a 8 hour shift (coughs/colds, well child checks, IZs, rashes, respiratory/pulmonary problems, I&D procedures, joint injections) our existing providers see upwards of 30 patients per day
o Provider schedules are finalized 2-3 month in advance- provider will be able to plan their lives and activities well in advance
o Experience supervising midlevel providers may be required
o Bilingual Spanish skills highly desired
• Inpatient Care Responsibilities
o Call will be 1-4 or 1-5
o Traditional 24 hour call 7a-7am
o Need ICU coverage and ICU procedures
o Admits and discharges, completes rounds during AM, Lunch or PM hours
o Night telephone triage, rarely have to go in the hospital at night (ER works up patient at night)
o No PEDs patients, does not need to attend high risk deliveries or c-sections (hospital has pediatric hospitalist group)
o Will round and manage patients that were admitted during 24 hour call until they are discharged, can sign out on the weekends or have patients signed out by other physicians when taking weekend call
o Will take call for group’s paneled patients and unassigned patients
Along with a competitive hourly rate, Advantage Locums will provide travel and lodging while on assignment. Mal practice will also be provided.

We provide Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive health and Family Planning, Adult and Children’s Dentistry, Clinical Laboratory, Imaging Services, Chiropractic Services, Pharmacy , Behavioral Health, Nutrition, Health Education and Promotion, Digital Retinal Screening, Community Health and Outreach and Eligibility Assistance, Translation/Interpretation and Transportation Services

Porterville Community Information (Doctor will need to stay in Porterville due to hospital call)
Porterville has approximately 60,000 residents, major supermarkets, hotels, pharmacy, banks , movie theater, mini-mall with Target, Kohls, Walmart, and gym.
Visalia is a 32-35 miles from Porterville with Macy’s, Costco, Best Buy and other restaurants.
Bakersfield is a 48-50 miles from Porterville with larger malls, airport and other restaurants.
