SCHEDULE: Monday thru Friday from 9am-5:30pm ABOUT FACILITY: Outpatient non-profit clinic established in 1986. Since then it has strived to provide quality medical and wellness services in a caring and considerate manner. They focus on Los Angeles County communities and offer care in several different languages, including Spanish, Tagalog, Thai and others. POSITION SUMMARY: Provides quality and cost effective primary care services to underserved patient population, meeting their diverse health and social needs. Physician will see approximately 15-20 patients per day. The Physician oversees the daily operation of Nursing activities, including Triage, Referral and Dispensary according to clinic policies and procedures, when there is neither Registered Nurse nor Nurse Practitioner present. Reports to Medical Director. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Clinical 1.3 Performs complete examination of patients including teenagers and adults 1.4 Assesses and manage acute and chronic conditions and participate in disease registry, 1.5 Screens all patients for health maintenance needs, including immunizations, 1.6 Educates patients and family members in health promotion, disease prevention and birth control methods as appropriate, 1.8 Initiates diagnostic studies referring abnormal results of concern to Medical Director or specialist, 2. Administrative. 2.1 Provides a proportionate share of daily supervision and be able to act as mentor to PA/NP and co-sign their charts, 2.2 Provides consultative support, including differential diagnosis to NP, PA, triage nurse and other Physicians, 2.3 Participates in proctoring of new hire and newly graduated Providers, 2.4 Participates in Quality Assurance, peer review and maintains confidentiality, 2.5 Participates in quality improvement, chart audits, and process improvement programs both system wide and cluster specific, 2.6 Participates in administrative duties as assigned by Medical Director. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Current License to work as a Medical Doctor in the state of California Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine Graduate of a nationally accredited program BLS certified according to the Client Facility guidelines Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise Ability to convey a warm, caring attitude for patients while representing the best interest of clinic Minimum 1 year experience in a primary care clinic HR Procedural Requirements · Legal authorization to work in the United States · A valid California Driver’s license · Completion of Department of Justice background check and Fingerprinting, immunizations
