Hamilton Memorial Hospital District (HMHD) in McLeansboro Illinois, in association with Community Health & Emergency Services, Inc (CHESI) in Carmi, Illinois, has an salaried employment opportunity for a Family Practice physician. This physician will join CHESI’s group practice of physicians and Mid-Level providers and join HMHD’s Medical Staff. The opportunity includes seeing patients in CHESI’s Carmi clinic practice site and inpatient and outpatient duties at HMHD. Physician will round on their own inpatients Monday through Friday with Weekend rotation with other medical staff at HMHD. Additional income, above and beyond a salaried position, is available for Emergency Room coverage from 6 pm to 6 am on week nights. The physician on call for the Emergency Room will take call and do any admissions during this time. From 6 pm on Friday to 6 am Monday morning the physician on call for the ER will take calls and admissions. Call for the Emergency Room is approximately one weekend a month and one night per week (6 pm to 6 am). You can elect to take additional call shifts if desired. Exceptional hourly pay is provided when on ER call. The physician is required to live locally.
The opportunity offers a competitive base salary plus incentives. There is an opportunity to make 300K or more with the addition of emergency room coverage. CHESI is a Federally Qualified Health Clinic (FQHC) otherwise known as a Community Health Center (CHC). CHESI provides primary medical, dental and behavioral healthcare and specialty services to 6 counties in the Southern Illinois Region. CHESI’s office in Carmi, Illinois which serves residents in White County is the office with the opportunity. From this office, patients will be sent for Inpatient and Outpatient services at HMHD in neighboring Hamilton County. More information can be found at www.chesi.org
Hamilton Memorial Hospital is a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital. CAH status allows the hospital to receive better reimbursement for Medicare patients, assuring its financial stability. Hamilton Memorial Hospital offers a 24-hour physician covered emergency department and adult and pediatric medical/surgical care. Hamilton also offers inpatient and outpatient surgical services. Surgical Services offered at Hamilton Memorial include General Surgery, Orthopedic, and Ophthalmology. The hospital also provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy; respiratory therapy, and hospice services. Diagnostic services offered at Hamilton include MRI, CT, X-ray, mammography, bone density studies, and laboratory services.
