Job Description

Last Update: 11/03/16
Paladina Health in WI is seeking a MD/DO Physician for outpatient population health | Direct Primary
Care

Our two current available opportunities in WI are outlined below:

Sheboygan, WI – Sheboygan was recognized by Readers Digest as “The Best Place to Raise a Family” in the US in 1997. Live and work in the wonderful small-town of Sheboygan, where the population is just over 50,000, located on the western short of Lake Michigan and at the mouth of the Sheboygan river about 50 miles North of Milwaukee and 64 miles south of Green Bay. This is an opportunity to open our newest location and walk into an established population who are all extremely excited to have a caring physician available for their primary care needs. Our location is expected to open January 2017 and will be open five days a week.

Hartford and West Bend, WI – Hartford is named after Hartford, CT when settlers from New England settled after the completion of the Erie Canal. West Bend is located on the bend of the Milwaukee River, which is how West Bend got its name. If you are into Geocaching, West Bend offers over 1,200 caches within a 10 mile radius. This is an established practice where you can immediately start to care for the patient population on a part-time, three days a week basis. This is a benefits eligible position.

Wisconsin is not just a dairy state, but is home to over 40 craft breweries. A locally-made and delicious adult beverage is just a stone’s throw away. Wisconsin has 1,100 miles of scenic coastline along Lake Michigan as well as 14,000 inland lakes and 7,446 streams and rivers. Wisconsin is truly a beautiful place to live.

What does a career with Paladina look like?
You’ll come into a population of patients who are seeking a quality, high touch primary care service. You’ll have smaller patient panel sizes, allowing you more time to develop strong relationships with you patients and provide more comprehensive care. You’ll have the ability to practice medicine in all ways you thought to be possible while in medical school. Our new patient visits range from 60-90 minutes. Every day you’ll receive a report on the following day’s patients, that include many keep clinical stats on the patients you will be seeing. This is how Paladina helps support our patients in delivering the best possible care. At the end of the day, you’ll go home knowing you made a difference, and that’s priceless!

What is Direct Primary Care?
Some people view us as Concierge Medicine; however we believe we are better. We are able to care for every single person (from a company’s lowest wage earners to the CEO) in a high-quality and direct way. We contract directly with employers as opposed to caring for the patients in fee-for-service environment that promotes volume over relationships and service. Each patient is unique and our care-plans are specific to every individual need. For physicians, this results in enhanced career satisfaction and brings joy back to practicing medicine.

Why do Physicians move away from the RVU model and into a Direct Primary Care model with Paladina Health (direct quotes from our current physicians):
“I wanted to care and connect with people. I wanted to form long and meaningful relationships with my patients.”
“I have now been working at Paladina Health for 2 years and I feel fulfilled as a family physician. I am able to address all of my patients’ concerns, connect with them, and provide the compassion, care, and respect they deserve. Paladina Health saved my medical soul.”
“At Paladina Health, I can finally practice medicine the way I always dreamed. I now have the time to provide high quality medicine with the care and respect my patients deserve.”
“I became a family physician because I believe in taking care of people, not just the diseases that afflict them. I found I was so rushed in my previous practice it felt like I was spending more time filling out paperwork and charting than I was listening to my patients and really getting to know them. I was a physician seeing all members of a family, but I was not truly a family physician. Now, at Paladina, I am able to use my time in ways that both the patient and I find more satisfying. I am teaching, learning from, understanding and treating people whom I know and who know me.”

What do we look for, specifically?

• Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with outpatient experience
• Board Certified or Board Eligible, but must be board certified within two years of joining Paladina.
• License to practice in WI or ability to obtain a license in the state of WI
• A passion for delivering the best possible care to patients
• A desire to be a part of an innovative and evidence-based clinical care organization!
