Royal Oak Medical Associated (ROMA), a longstanding primary care group located in Marion, Virginia, is seeking quality family physicians to join its practice.



Two physicians in the group are making practice transitions in the next twelve months. One physician is retiring, another is moving to a full-time nursing home medical directorship.

The practice has 100% support from Smyth County Community Hospital while the group seeks both, quality FM and IM physicians. The Hospital is supporting this outstanding group with this search in the form of a very competitive income guarantee, sign-on bonus and relocation expenses.


Royal Oak Medical Associates has four Family Physicians in Marion, Virginia and three family physician and a nurse practitioner in an adjacent medical office building. They admit the majority of their patients to SCCH’s Hospitalist program.

A brand-new Smyth County Community Hospital recently opened. The Hospital supports several medical subspecialties including hospitalists, orthopedics, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, cardiology and more.

ROMA physicians have attended MCV, UVA, UNC-Chapel Hill, ETSU, WVSOM and the University of Texas Medical Branch. So, the pedigrees run pretty strong.



ROMA also rotates students from the Via College of Osteopathic Medicine @ Virginia Tech, through its practices.

Community, Facility and Organization
Smyth County Community Hospital is a brand new 44-bed acute care not-for-profit hospital with a service area exceeding 50,000+. A financially sound facility, we are a member of the Mountain States Health Alliance, Johnson City, TN. With over 45 physicians on active medical staff, SCCH is host to broad base of primary care and subspecialty services.

The new SCCH provides 18 med/surg beds, 14 Inpatient Rehab beds, four ICU and Six PCU beds. The Emergency Department sees over 19,000 visit per year and has 11 exam rooms with two additional rooms for peak volume. SCCH also operate sthe 109-bed Francis Marion Manor nursing facility, Glade Spring Community Clinic, Crossroads Medical Clinic at Rural Retreat, and Rural Retreat Pharmacy.

Our Community Foundation boasts a state-of-the-art Lifetime Wellness Center, located adjacent to the Hospital campus. The Center is a fully-equipped facility with 54,000 square-feet of exercise space including swimming, rehab and hot pools; full-sized gymnasium, two racquetball courts, steam rooms, aerobics studio and massive free-weight and cardiovascular workout facilities. The Center is staffed by knowledgeable, highly trained fitness professionals.
