GATEWAY TO ACADIA NATIONAL PARK
Gouldsboro/Winter Harbor Region: This idyllic coastal community is only minutes away from the famous Acadia National Park. Breathtaking scenery and a quieter pace of life near the sea separate this area from busy tourist areas. Residents and visitors are surrounded by gorgeous bays and inlets. This area is also less than 1 hour away from Bangor, the third largest city in the state. It sits within the greater MDI/Ellsworth area, which offers a wealth of recreational and cultural resources along with all the amenities of a small metro without the urban hassles. Bar Harbor and Frenchman Bay are just across the Mt. Desert Narrows, making day trips easy. The public school options are top rated, plus there are excellent alternative private school options which make the greater area highly desirable for families. The population is an eclectic one; professional, skilled labor, lobstermen, farmers, shop keepers and scientists from the nationally renowned Jackson Laboratories. Nearby, Bangor’s International airport makes travel very easy.
