We are searching for one full-time Director, Sports Medicine and Family Medicine Physician reporting to the Department Chair, Family & Community Medicine. The position will coordinate all aspects of the Sports Medicine Program. The director provides clinical care to student athletes and other personnel on campus. The director will work closely with the athletic director and athletic training staff when providing care to student athletes. Additionally, the Director, Sports Medicine will provide supervision and support to the accreditation process. This role includes participation in teaching medical students, residents and the Sports Medicine Fellow(s) at the Family Medicine Department. The position also directs patient care in the Family Medicine Center. Family physicians at our medical school deliver a range of acute, chronic and preventive medical care services. In addition to diagnosing and treating illness, they will also provide preventive care, including routine checkups, health risk assessments, immunizations and screening test.
Requirements: MD, DO degree or equivalent and successful completion of an ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency Program and a current Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine (CAQSM) from the American Board of Family Medicine in Sports Medicine. Candidates must be board eligible prior to start or board certified within one year in Family Medicine. Candidates need to have at least three years post residency experience by time of hire, excluding fellowship. Preferred qualification: experience as a team physician with NCAA.
Candidates must possess and maintain a State Board of Pharmacy license and DEA license. Candidates must also be eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical license and malpractice insurance and be successfully credentialed.
