Job Description: We have a Great Opportunity for a Physician, Family Practice – Sports Medicine to work in a Military facility as a civilian. This is a full time position located @ Branch Medical clinic San Diego. (32nd street base)

Schedule:

In no instance shall the HCW work in excess of 160hrs each 4-week period. Services shall normally be providing 8hrs a day, Monday–Friday between 7am to 5pm. The Government anticipates scheduling the HCW to work a minimum of two weekend shifts a month (Saturday and/or Sunday).

Duties:

As part of the HCW’s normal tour of duty, the Family Practice Physicians shall rotate telephonic on-call services with all providers in the Directorate for Primary Care. On-call should occur approximately one week out of every eight weeks. On-call hours are normally Monday through Friday from 7pm to 7am the next day and 7am to 7am on Saturdays, Sundays and the day of observance of Federal Holidays. The government will assign a beeper or cellular phone and the contractor shall be responsible for replacement costs if the beeper or Cell phone is lost or damaged due to negligence.

Perform full range of sports medicine services on-site using Government-furnished supplies, facilities and equipment. Productivity is expected to be comparable with that of other contracted individuals performing similar services.

Comply with standards of the Joint commission, applicable provisions of law and the rules and regulations of any and all government authority pertaining to licensure and regulations of healthcare personnel and medical treatment facilities, the regulations and standards of medical practice MTF and the bylaws of the hospital medical staff. Adhere to and comply with all Departments of the Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery of local Clinic instructions and notices that may be effect during terms of contract.

Provide a full range of sports medicine procedures, diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated.




Requirements:

Graduation from a Medical School approved by the liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or the American Osteopathic Association or Certification by the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

Successful completion of a residency program which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association or those Canadian training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or other appropriate Canadian Medical authority.

A current, valid, unrestricted license in one of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the US Virgin Islands.

Posses a minimum of 12 months experience within the preceding 36 months as a Family Practice Physician in Sports medicine.

Completion of a sports medicine fellowship accredited by the ACGME or AOA, and/ or within the eligibility limit (3 years) to take the sports medicine examination for certification, as set forth by the American Board of Family Practice or the AOA.
