Dedicated Endocrinologist needed to join established practice of one physician and support staff. The current physician has a vision to build a group of 4-6 endocrinologists attracting patients throughout the Southeast. The primary mission at Brookwood Medical Center to support the health and wellness of the community.
Hours and Call requirements?:
-5 days per week, 8 am-5 pm.
-Fridays are typically 1/2 days, allowing on-call physicians to round on inpatients.
-The current physician sees approximately 20 patients per day and does consults.
-Patients are typically admitted directly to Hospitalists.
-Expect fewer than 6 calls/weekend of call.
Call encompasses:
-Insulin drip maintenance
-Checking blood sugar every hour on certain patients (up to physicians to delegate to Hospitalists, 1-2 patients/month)
Typically, 3-4 consults/week.
20 patient visits in clinic is typical, and less than one hospital consult per day on average. Diagnostic services provided on-site include, Cholesterol, evaluations, EKG, Laboratory testing. Privileges at Brookwood Medical Center
Ideal candidate can function as part of a group, act as a team player, and will be eager to be join in the group vision of creating a regional destination for diabetes care.

Brookwood MC is a large hospital, 634 beds offering multiple specialists to consult, multiple options in every specialty. Physician parking is very convenient. The hospital is always responsive when challenges arise and Brookwood Medical Center has a very well respected senior leadership team
Must be Fellowship trained in Endocrinology. Must be BC/BE. AL licensed or in process preferred. Please send CV for immediate consideration!
