Overview:
Glendale Adventist Medical Center (GAMC) is a 450 bed facility and one of the major emergency care providers in the area with the backup capabilities of an acute care medical center. As one of the busiest Emergency Departments in the area, GAMC provides treatment to over 40,000 patients annually and its 36 bed emergency department also includes a Fast Track area. GAMC has electronic patient tracking, bedside ultrasound and scribes. The ED has 50 hours of physician coverage and 20 hours of Allied Health Provider (AHP) coverage daily with double and triple coverage. Here are some facts about GAMC:
* 9.5 to 10.5 hour shifts
* On call services include: Peds, OB/GYN, Surgery, Ortho, ICU, Cardiology, Neurosurgery, and Pain Management
* Exceptional ED Nurses, Techs, and ancillary staff
* Cardiothoracic Surgery program, and Cath Lab
* Adult Hospitalist program
Requirements:
* California Medical License
* Completion of Emergency Medicine residency training
* Current ABEM, ABPS, or AAPS board certification
* Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications
* Current DEA certification

Glendale is located in the eastern edge of the San Fernando Valley, approximately 10 miles north of downtown Los Angeles. Glendale is the corporate headquarters of companies such as Nestle, IHOP, Baskin Robbins, DreamWorks, and Public Storage. Compensation:
Physicians are independent contractors and are given base rates with the opportunity to earn productivity pay at specific sites. VEP provides independent contractors with pension plan administration, flexible schedules, and paid malpractice insurance with tail coverage. Physicians also enjoy the benefit of becoming a stockholder which allows them to be actively involved in the governance of the company.
