Job Description:
BE/BC in Emergency Medicine or BC in Internal Medicine or Family Practice with Emergency Room experience. The ER Physician is employed by Hospital and reports to the EM Director.
This service is expanding to four physicians, and currently has three physician assistants. The physicians typically develop their own shifts, working rotating shifts of varying lengths that are structured to allow recuperative time between days and nights, and average 32 hours per week, 1700 hours annually. The ER functions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Emergency Department averages 19,000 visits annually with a daily census of 40 - 50 patients. Hospital is a 70-bed; acute care community hospital with a 51-member medical staff. The ER is a level 3-trauma center.
