Planted in 4 Ohio counties—Erie, Huron, Sandusky, and Seneca--Bellevue is a rarity and also part of 4 micro- and metropolitan statistical areas—Fremont, Norwalk, Sandusky, and Tiffin. The National Arbor Day Foundation designated the city as a Tree City USA, and Bellevue was home to Henry Morrison Flagler when he partnered with John D. Rockefeller to start Standard Oil. Flagler later built the Florida Overseas Railroad to Key West, Florida, and Flagler’s former Bellevue residence is now the Mad River and NKP Railroad Museum.
