This is a hospital employment opportunity staffing a low volume, Emergency Department with a Level III trauma designation. Work an average of 12 shifts a month and receive a generous assortment of benefits including pension, health insurance, and paid time off. You will have time to spend with the kids, on your hobbies or take time to explore the nearby mountains, forests lakes and streams.
Seriously, what will you do with all that free time!?
This isn’t your big city emergency department.
While an estimated 25% is trauma / minor-trauma, trauma here consists mainly of recreational accidents and motor vehicle crashes – not the sort of trauma common to major metros. This is an ultra-modern, sparkling new 12,300 sq. ft. ED with 13 beds, 2 in a trauma suite, 2 in cardiac/resuscitation, 1 GYN, 1 ENT, 1 minor procedures, 2 ortho, and 5 private rooms. There is 24/7 radiology support with a PACS system.
Average volumes are trending up slightly year-to-year but overall volume is still a modest, just slightly more than 10,000 visits for the fiscal year 2008 and just 20 patients day time and 12 on average at night.
You will write holding orders on occasion while a network of hospitalist physicians handles the unassigned admissions. Admissions from the ED average 15% of volume. This is primarily an adult and geriatric patient population and rarely includes the less desirable aspects of a major trauma center.
This hospital is led by a progressive, responsive and physician friendly CEO and board. And you will enjoy the support of your colleagues and the community.
Why work any harder or longer hours then you need to. When your shift is over you’re done, go home and enjoy the next 3-4 days off. Forget about the hassles of billing, collecting, running an office and never again worry about Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement rates or the malpractice premium – we have you covered.
