Emergency Medicine Physician - (ER Doctor, EM Doctor) Locum Tenens
2 northern Wisconsin hospitals are seeking approximately 24 shifts of Emergency Medicine physician coverage each month. The emergency department annual volumes are 7,000 & 14,000. The locum tenens physician must be board-certified in Emergency Medicine; ABEM/AOBEM (can not accept alternate boards) Grandfathered is acceptable. The shifts are 12 hours, but the client is flexible. Double coverage is offered during both in and off seasons at the higher volume facility. The lower volume facility only has double coverage during in-season.
Working primarily in emergency rooms, Emergency medicine physicians(locum tenens) are tasked with making high stakes life management decisions in times of immediate crisis. EM physicians regularly deal with complex trauma and exotic conditions, and are highly trained in the stabilization and treatment of a wide range of both adult and pediatric injuries and illnesses.
Required Qualifications
Must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine; ABEM/AOBEM (cannot accept alternate boards) Grandfathered acceptable. Must be willing to work at both hospitals, which are 30 min apart.Must be willing to work with EHRRequired Procedures are: chest tube insertion, intubation, paracentesis, X-ray interpretation, conscious sedation, central line insertion, EKG interpretation, lumbar puncture, thoracentesis, rapid sequence intubation (RSI), bedside ultrasound, and advanced airway mgmt (GlideScope)
Preferred Qualifications
Would like the booked Providers to come in for 2 days of paid orientation (One day of paperwork/EHR training and one day of training in dept as to the flow and process)Preferred Procedures are: fish hook removal, geriatric illnesses, full spectrum EM Practice, and recreational trauma.
