CHILD ABUSE PEDIATRICIANSt. Christopher’s Hospital for Children is seeking applicants for a part-time Child Abuse Pediatrician to jointhe Child Protection Program.Applicants should be a board-certified/eligible child abuse pediatrician or a board-certified pediatrician with extensive training in the field of child abuse and neglect.The Child Protection Program (CPP) was established for children and families who have been subjected to abuse. Our objective is to provide the highest quality of care to victims of child abuse, while minimizing the potential for further trauma by providing compassionate care and psychosocial support in a nurturing environment as a first step toward healing for the child and family.The CPP sees over 500 patients per year in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.The successful candidate will be responsible for providing out-patient services and evaluations to pediatric victims of abuse; in-patient consultative services to pediatric victims of abuse in all areas of the hospital; and sharing on-call services for telephone consults on evenings and weekends.There will be opportunities to educate in the area of child abuse and neglect for faculty, fellows, residents and students.This position also requires providing expert testimony in local courts as it relates to child abuse.
