CHIEF, SECTION OF EMERGENCY MEDICINEDIRECTOR, DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MEDICINE POSITION St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and the Department of Pediatrics at Drexel University College of Medicine are seeking applicants for the position of Chief, Section of Emergency Medicine/Director, Department of Emergency Medicine. This position will join an established department providing comprehensive care during medical or trauma-related emergencies to more than 74,000 children and adolescents each year. The position requires a candidate to be board-certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine with significant clinical experience, including medical leadership experience. Academic appointment as Associate Professor or Professor will be at Drexel University College of Medicine. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, outstanding clinical experience, excellence in patient care and superb communication skills to guide the professional development of the faculty in the department. The candidate should be committed to the department’s academic mission and have a strong skill set in mentorship of junior faculty. Responsibilities will include participation in clinical training for the competitive ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship programs, interaction with hospital and departmental leadership to continually enhance quality of care and patient safety, and successfully collaborating with the transport team and trauma program leadership to grow both programs. Additional responsibilities will include the oversight and growth of a network of urgent care centers, partner hospital pediatric emergency departments and a new telemedicine initiative.
